Well we knew it was probably coming! BUT, Blizzard have finally confirmed that all accrued honor, and saved Marks, will be wiped clear and reset on release of Wrath Of The Lich King.
With the inclusion of a new Battleground, all new PvP items and a new dedicated PvP zone, it was not a shock to hear the announcement, and one can certainly see the logic of removing the ability for PvP Honor hoarders pre-release to rush and spend their points on the new level 80 PvP gear. Blizzard have confirmed however that various items and rewards will be included in the next content patch to enable players to mop up their remaining points.
Unfortunately for Blizzard this news has not been taken well, with the forums full of complaints and upset at the new system. Bad news for those spending their free time building their points! Thank god I was not one of them!
For those of you curious about the impact on the Arena points, a Blue Poster has stated that level 70 rated matches will still be accessible but that there will be no updated titles/items for any points accrued. Additionally, any player who levels beyond 70 will be automatically removed from all current level 70 Arena Teams and their points will be reset to 0. There will however be the ability to access skirmish matches within two level level brackets (71-75 and 76-80).
Oh well! Guess that will be PvP dead for me until level 80!
